The bike commute

Feb 28, 2017

Source: Insee and LeMonde

Only 2% of working people cycle to work, even for short journeys (around 500,000 people). Cycling is most common when the workplace is up to four kilometres from home. In urban areas, 4% use bicycles.

Targeted data

The most numerous are working people in the Lower Rhine, with 6.1% of working people going to work by bicycle, and the French 15-19 year olds, who use a bicycle at 3%.

In Savoie, we are right in line with the national figures, at 2%. In Vakario, we say to ourselves that we will try to increase this figure, even if we are not in the lower Rhine. And what about you?
